Before you write
- Code and permit questions are best answered by your local building department — requirements vary a lot from place to place, and they’re the final authority.
- Structural questions (beam sizes, spans, foundation design) belong with an engineer who can see your plans and site.
- General questions about the guides are always welcome. The fastest way to ask is a comment at the bottom of the relevant guide, so other readers benefit too.
